Kasia Jackowska is a Zurich-based artist exploring the territory between drawings and photography. She often overpaints and cuts her photos, rephotographing them again, adding a new subjective layer of emotions. Her drawings and paintings tell stories of inner worlds, inhabited my mermaids, forest creatures, ghosts as well as all other kind of beings. Besides art, she works on documentary series and commissioned work in architecture and editorial photography. Recenly she discovered clay, which turned out to be the dream medium of an architect-turned-artist.
Before pursuing her career in arts and photography, she focused on her original studies - architecture – teaching at the ETH and HSLU and working independently and in various architectural offices, including Herzog & de Meuron.
